Helping upstate New York communities take charge of their energy future
Empowering upstate communities
TakeChargeNY was formed in 2023 to give Upstate New York communities a voice in Albany in the great energy transformation already underway.
Our goal is to unite counties to take charge of their own energy futures for both economic growth and affordable green energy for all, including low-to-middle income and disadvantaged communities.
To accomplish this goal, we work with leaders in economic and industrial development groups to ensure Upstate New Yorkers benefit from the statewide energy transition.

Give New Yorkers a voice
Make green energy affordable for all
Support low income communities

Take Charge is creating sustainability hubs which utilize different renewable energy resources to support New Yorkers.
We believe these energy hubs will promote and develop underserved local communities.
Our petition to the
Public Service Commission
Currently, our affiliate company Acadia Energy Corporation has a petition before the New York Public Service Commission that allows us to maximize the benefits of our local microgrids for community benefit.
Your support allows for more power to be created in Upstate New York and distributed in Upstate New York for the best economic benefit.
If you’d like to sign a letter supporting this petition to send to the PSC, we have an example available below.
